Insurance Companies

It's been more than a year since my mom and I were hit by a nineteen year old racing his twenty year old friend on a main interstate. His insurance company gave us around $800 to replace our totaled car; pathetic I know be we had no choice. My sister was having heart problems, my mom had internal and external bruising from the accident, and I had a slight concussion and internal bruising from my seat belt that may or may not have been the cause of an infection which made me faint from pain. And that's only the physical side. My sister would have panic attacks when she thought of driving; be it her, our mom, or me. My mom would cry when driving or just from remembering. I have a panic attack whenever I hear loud cars (and we live be a race track that has a race every Friday), I have panic attacks when ever I drive, I'm depressed, I hardly ever leave my room, but most of all I AM PISSED OFF!!!!!

Why? Because they, the insurance company, may have "payed" us for the car but that's all. Nothing for medical. It has been one year and two weeks since the accident and we have gotten nothing for our medical bills. We have had to hire a lawyer because the insurance company kept "losing" or "not getting" the paperwork that we sent them. And they kept asking for us to get the doctors notes from the ER; you can't get doctors notes, no one is able to see them.

We just want the insurance company to offer us a settlement so we can pay our bills and finally start to heal. Is that too much to ask?
